Everything is working now...mostly

Our technical difficulties have been solved, the storm of controversy abated, and the copious amounts of coffee consumed.

Our videos were down for a day due to sunspot activity. Who knows. they just stopped working. I suspect a Microsoft plot.

Now I've got some sweet code up in there and all is well. Just click on the image of the video to play the video. I know it's all kinds of extra steps but without that the videos would all start playing when the page loaded. "Martha, why is this website screaming at me?"

Technical Difficulties

Apparently switching to wmv videos may have been a bad choice. Some of the videos play some do not. sorry if your life depends on them all working. Go check out the funny cats again.

Photoshop's Save for Web Error

Problem: Whenever I try to save an image for the web (using the save for web command) I come up with an error message

'could not complete this operation because an assertion has failed'

Solution: Using "Regedit" find the following key and delete it

'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Save For Web 3.0'

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Microsft and Eolas have recently duked it out over copyright infringement, or somesing like that, and guess who lost? YOU!! That's right, now everytime you visit a page or a link that uses ActiveX or Flash you will have to click one or more times on the object - or answer "yes" to pop-up boxes. That makes me angry at both companies.

As a web designer I now have to figure out how to get around this so my sites don't appear broken to the average "I don't read the tech news everyday" visitor. Dang!
